A Testimony from a Lutheran's Elders Wife

This letter was in response to a question of how do you handle critism regarding John's style of ministry? It was written by an Elders wife from "Our Saviours Lutheran Church" Albany, NY

As with many churches there are some that receive this type of ministry and others who are unsure. But for those that came, we were blessed. One women who has never seen anything like this before said that this is the first time in years (since her sister died of cancer) that she felt light and that a heaviness was lifted from her. That is just one testimony. God really lifted a burden from me that I was carrying around concerning one of my children that I didn’t even realize was affecting me so much.

My husband has been an elder at OSL for a number of years and once again will take back a wonderful report to the other elders and pastors of all the Lord did during the meetings. (This is our second year hosting John and Jean at OSL.) The only reason that the pastors were not there is that they had previous commitments. Two other events were taking place at the church during our meeting. (OSL has expanded and now has a new wing with a large cafeteria and gym.) Last year one of the pastors did attend and said that whenever we are able to host a speaker like John it leaves a good deposit in the church. (Something like that he said.)

(If you wish to speak with Doris who wrote this response her email can be forwarded on request)

God can provide for his children

I was reading in exodus today about the daily sacrifices the Israelites made, a lamb was offered twice a day, morning and evening. Dakes bible notes gives us a break down of what it would cost today in monetary terms to offer each day seven days a week, a lamb, and without blemish, top quality. along with the cost of wine etc. for the whole period this was in force which is estimated at 1,718 yrs. Our God is not STINGY.
